Walter Andrew Leak SFC RET
I am Walter Andrew Leak just an average boy born and raised in North Carolina now residing in Monroe County Georgia. Growing up and working on our family’s tobacco farm, I always dreamed of making music my career. Playing in the school band program from six grade to high school graduation was my thing! But as life often does it took me on a different path. I would serve my country for more than thirty years in the US Army. One of my most member-able times while serving was being stationed in West Germany (1976-1980) performing and recording with my band, Mellow Madness for B&R records. I also had the honor to perform for American Forces stationed through out West Germany for moral support!
Now I am a retired disabled vet trying to keep a smile on my face as well as my family and reach a few fans. Making music in my home made studio, playing under my band name OSRR (Ole School Rhythm Rules) or playing with different bands, or whether for my church; music helps me do that. Normally I would write about fun, dance, inspirational stuff but again the times require a different path. Lately, I try to speak to truth to power, principles before privilege, humanity to cages and chains and unity to divide!
“Whose Disgracing My Flag” was inspired by Colin Kaepernick whose sacrifice for police brutality makes him much bigger than the game of football and Michelle Obama monumental statement, “When They Go Low We Go High!"
“America Don’t Serve No King," was inspired by a dishonorable senate majority and a Bone Spur escorting a “Purple Heart Recipient," from The White House, he nearly died defending, Col Vindman an American Real Hero!
“Don’t Be Kept In Chains," was inspired by “The Black Lives Matter Movement," for the killing of unarmed innocent Black Human Beings! The chains of our hearts and minds can get weak sometimes but you can’t lose hope because violence want help.
